As in any organization or business, the success of a Land Trust requires a committed and able Board of Directors. The Board of The Oregon Rangeland Trust is composed of members with a broad range of perspectives and expertise, including ranching, farming, business, law, and real estate.
The Board is responsible for the governance of the Land Trust, for the stewardship of its easements and properties, and for managing its finances. Board members attend monthly meetings, represent the Land Trust at events, and participate in land trust committees.
The Oregon Rangeland Trust Board Members are:
Tom Price - Chairman of the Board of Directors – President of InterWest Ranch and Farm Management, Inc., Principal of Price Cattle Company and Price Family Ranch in Baker, Morrow, and Union Counties, Outdoor Board of Director for the Washington Family Ranch in Antelope, OR owned by Young Life, Member and Past Chairman of the Conservation Committee of the Boone and Crockett Club and Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Ranch in Depuyer, MT, Past President of the Umatilla County Cattlemen’s Association, Past District Vice President of the Oregon Cattlemen’s Association, BS and MS degrees from Colorado State University.
Bob Skinner - Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors - Malheur County Cattleman, Past President Oregon Cattlemen’s Association, Past Chairman OCA Public Lands Committee, Past Director Oregon Public Lands Council, Past Director Oregon Livestock & Marketing Board, Past Board Member Vale District Advisory Council (President for four years), Past President Malheur County Cattlemen’s Association, Chairman of the Antelope Allotment Grazing Assn., Round Table Participant with President George W. Bush, and “OCA’s Top Hand” Lifetime Achievement Award.
Karl Amidon – Director, Klickitat County Cattleman Past-President of Klickitat County Cattlemen’s Association, Director/Chairman of Klickitat County Conservation Board of Directors, Chairman FSA Board for Klickitat County, State Director for Washington Cattlemen’s Association.
Ken Bentz - Director – Third generation Southeastern Oregon rancher, real estate broker specializing in large properties, MBA from University of Nevada, Reno, and a ten year member of the Harney County Planning Board.
Wayne Elmore - Director – CEO of Full Stream Consulting, Inc. which focuses primarily on riparian management, restoration, and ecology. A Certified Professional in Rangeland Management with over 40 years experience working in the arid and semi-arid areas of the west, 35 years in eastern Oregon and 6 in eastern Washington, a Board Member for the Deschutes River Conservancy, representative to the Crooked River Watershed Council, and a Professional Member of the Boone and Crockett Club, the recipient numerous awards and authored or co-authored over 40 articles on the management of riparian areas focusing primarily on livestock grazing systems.
Jane O'Keeffe - Director – A partner in the O’Keeffe Ranch in Adel for more than 25 years and a partner in Campbell Crossing Ranch in Kimberly Oregon, Master's in Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Antioch University, currently employed as a consultant for the Partnership for Rural America Campaign, a former Lake County Commissioner, a former president of the Association of Oregon Counties, former co-chair of the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board, Governor Ted Kulongoski appointed O'Keeffe to the Environmental Quality Commission in June of 2008, active in the Lakeview Stewardship Group since it's inception, chairperson of the board of Sustainable Northwest, and a board member of Lake County Resources, and is hard at work on two books.
Larry Maxwell - Director – Fourth generation Lake County cattle rancher, BS degree from Oregon State University in Animal Science, Past President Lake County Fairboard, Past President Lake County Junior Rodeo Association, Past President Lake County Roundup Association, Past President Lake County Cattlemen’s Association, and Chairman of the Advisory Board for the OSU Harvey Ranch, Board Member of the Lake County Sage Grouse Work Group, Lake County Road Advisory Board, Lake County Junior First Citizen.
Bill Moore – Director - Senior Vice-President Argo Seed Company, owner of Moore Seed Company, owner/operator of ranching operations, BS degree from the Oregon State University in Wildlife Management, Past President Oregon Cattlemen’s Association, Past President Malheur County Cattlemen’s Association, Director for Burnt River Irrigation District, Trustee for the Oregon 4-H Foundation, Past Director Farmers Supply Coop, Past Director Oregon Trail Beef.
Neil Kayser - Director - Klickitat County Cattleman, Past President Washington Cattlemen’s Association, Past Secretary/Treasurer of the Cattleman’s Beef Board, fourth generation Cow/Calf producer in Klickitat County, Director of Northwest Pilot Program, Director on numerous county and local boards.
